Muggle life is boring. Come and experience the world you’ve always dreamed of being apart of.

In April of 2016, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter officially opened its gates at Universal Studios Hollywood. This has been of the most anticipated theme park attraction since its opening in Orlando, but has finally made its way to the West Coast and Los Angeles has never been happier.

Ollivander’s Wand Shop

Being a part of the Potter fandom, it has always been a dream to own a wand that destined for you.  Prior to entering the shop, the audience is entertained by a short interactive show where “the wand chooses the wizard” and then you move into the shop. The shop sells 68 wands based on original wands used by witches and wizards in the movie franchise. Interesting enough 27 of those wands are interactive wands that active animatronic window displays throughout Hogsmeade!

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey

This is everything you’d hoped it be. The ride was named number one by the LA Times for Best Dark Ride at Theme Park.  Throughout the ride visitors get a tour of the Hogwarts Castle and run into the Whomping Willow, Dementors and a Dragon. The Hollywood location is the only location in the U.S. to have the 3-D overlay added to the ride. Who wouldn’t want to fly in the sky with Harry, Ron and Hermione? Because we would.

To fulfill your inner Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Slytherin you can purchase your back to Hogwarts gear here. All of us have taken the test where we are placed into our house, but we’ve never had anything to show for it. Here you can purchase your house robes, house scarfs and your personal pointy black hat. You’ll forever have an authentic Halloween costume every year thanks to Gladrags and will finally feel at home.

The Three Broomsticks

One word: Butterbeer. As Harry Potter fans, we’ve all imagined the day where we could taste the creamy, sweet butterscotch drink. (NOTE: it also comes frozen!) Other than the delicious sweet-treat, the British style pub is the place you need to eat when coming to Hogsmeade. The Three Broomsticks is an actual restaurant inside the land of Harry Potter and serves: Shepherd’s Pie, Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, Lemon Herb Chicken, Spare Ribs and more! Also, the restaurant is reasonably priced for the amount of food you get (which is a lot). The restaurant also includes a breakfast and child’s menu with desserts. Check out the Yelp reviews!

Honeydukes

Finally, our final destination! Honeydukes is your one stop shop for all your non-muggle sweet treats. The shop sells all the candy featured in the Potter books and movies. Popular candies include: Chocolate Frogs with the wizard trading card (Unfortunately the frog will not hop), Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, Peppermint Toads, Queen Bee Fizzing Whizzbees, and Exploding Bon Bons. This is not your typical candy store and we wouldn’t want it any other way.
