The event runs from 5:00pm to 12:00 am, and attendees get to experience everything ranging from shopping to viewings of movies, gourmet Food Trucks to visiting culinary stages, and local bands performing on the LAWeekly stage, as well as, music and dancing with KCRW DJ’s and more! How incredible is that?!

New Chinatown opened in 1938 after the Old Chinatown had been removed to build Union Station. In the early 1860s, thousands of Chinese were hired by Central Pacific Railroad Company to help build the western portion of the transcontinental railroad. From there on many Chinese decided to make the journey to the States and many immigrated to California.

The best part is that you’ll be able to learn more about Chinese culture like never before by engaging in family friendly cultural workshops, Chinese restaurants and shopping. If you’ve never been, now is your chance to go, learn and have fun!

Each of these three nights are unique to themselves and have different schedules. There are different activities, food trucks, vendors and performers on each night. For travel, the Socialites definitely recommend taking the Metro’s Gold Line to Chinatown or taking a Uber or Lyft. Parking can get frustrating in DTLA, so prepare and have a plan of attack before making your way over to the event.

This is definitely an opportunity that you don’t want to pass up. If you’re interested in the event – follow the Facebook page!  Don’t forget to tag us on Instagram or Twitter and show us your night at Chinatown!

Here are the dates for the event:

  • June 18th
