At some point in our lives we crave tacos on Taco Tuesday and most of the time, we never get them. Fortunately LA Weekly’s 4th Annual Tacolandia is here!  If you love tacos, this is for you (as long as you’re over 21+). The festival is only here for one day on June 11th from 3 PM to 7 PM.

The festival is held at El Pueblo Historical Monument in Downtown Los Angeles. El Pueblo is the oldest section in all of Los Angeles and was established in 1781. The land stretches for 44-acres with historical buildings, museums, outdoor plazas and the world famous Mexican marketplace on Olvera Street.

In Los Angeles, Olvera Street is known for its authentic “Old Los Angeles” vibe. Here, Angelenos find authentic Mexican food while listening to mariachi music, enjoying Aztec and Mexican folk dance and shopping for handcrafted items.

Tacolandia vendors this year are the finest taco chefs from Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego and Baja California. The most anticipated vendors for Tacolandia are: Amor y Tacos, Aqui Es Texcoco, Balam Mexican Kitchen, Burritos La Palma, Coni’Seafood, Carzon y Miel, El Huarache Azteca, Guerrilla Tacos, Las Molenderas, and Mariscos El Bigotón.

As well as gourmet tacos, Tacolandia will also have live mariachi music, cash bars with beer, wine and cocktails. This year’s entertainment will be provided by: Salt Petal, Boogaloo Assassins, DJ Sloe Poke and Banda La Maravillosa.

Tacolandia combines competition, charity and entertainment into one huge event. The competition is judged and only presents six prestigious awards from the Vendy Awards. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Food Forward and the El Pueblo Park Association to continue to preserving its community.
