We love it when Food Network stars and chefs decide to present a bold new restaurant! Border Grill Downtown LA is the vibrant setting where Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger, Food Network’s “Too Hot Tamales,” show all kinds of flavors of Mexico and bold food done right. Here is their story:

In 1985, Mary Sue and Susan took a road trip far south of the Mexican border. After many restaurant encounters, they learned the recipes and techniques from multiple sources. From market vendors to home cooks, to streets in downtown Mexico City and the taco stands at the beach, Susan and Mary had a lot to learn (and eat). When they returned, they opened Border Grill and applied all the techniques and recipes learned from their road trip.

The authentic and bustling restaurant caught fire in both of its first locations on Melrose Avenue and 4th Street in Santa Monica. Susan and Mary didn’t settle for two. Since the first two openings, the Border Grill has expanded to restaurants at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino & the Forum Shops at Caesars, Downtown LA, two gourmet Border Grill food trucks, and finally it’s most recent location in the Tom Bradley International Terminal in Los Angeles International Airport.

Get festive and host a party at Border Grill! You have multiple options to choose from to satisfy your Mexican cravings. You won’t regret it!
