Winter Wonderland at the LA Zoo

For the second year in a row, L.A. ZOO LIGHTS is bringing a nighttime adventure to your holiday festivities. A new tradition in the making, the L.A. Zoo will bring a new look to Griffith Park through enchanting LED lights, lasers, 3D projections, sets and interactive displays. Adults and children of all ages will get a kick out of this magical experience as they walk through the park in a self-guided tour lasting approximately 90 minutes.

Every night while the animals are asleep, troops of animated and illuminated animals come to life and guide guests through the park before introducing the event’s sole live animals, real reindeer at the Reindeer Romp Village, lit by elegant “chandeliers.” Other sights include giant floating snowflakes, glittering light tunnels, animal cutouts and icicle lights. Holiday treats and goodies as well as steaming hot drinks will also be for sale. It’s as close as Los Angeles can get to a true winter wonderland! Additionally, visits by Santa Claus on select dates will top off a night of seasonal festivities and yuletide greetings!

Perfect for date night, family night, or simply a night out with friends, this magical night under the stars will bring a Los Angeles twist to the holiday season with homages to classic city landmarks. But for those who can’t make it to the after hours event, guests can still see reindeer, visit Santa Clause (select dates), and celebrate the holidays during regular park hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Designed by art director Gregg Lacy and Bionic League, an event company which has designed light shows for a variety of festivals, concerts, and stadiums, LA ZOO LIGHTS will make your winter nights even better with this spin on Holiday lights.

Select nights will include special events, and tickets can be ordered online in advance or at the gate. Event details are as follows.

Open nightly from Friday, November 27, 2015, through Sunday, January 3, 2016 (except December 24th and 25th). Hours: 6 PM to 10 PM @ Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
